Judges

Our judging panels are made up of senior figures from across the construction industry, including major clients, managing contractors and recognised industry leaders.

They generously dedicate their time and expertise to reviewing hundreds of entries each year, ensuring every submission is assessed fairly and consistently.

Many of our judges return year after year, helping maintain the high standards and credibility of the Construction News Workforce Awards. We are extremely grateful for their continued support and commitment.

Judging process

The Construction News Workforce Awards follows a rigorous and transparent judging process to determine the winners. Each category is assessed by an independent panel of judges made up of major clients, contractors and respected industry figures.

Some shortlisted entries will then be discussed in depth during a virtual judging roundtable, where our expert panel will debate and select the final winners.

However, finalists for the following categories only, will be required to attend a face-to-face presentation with our esteemed judging panel to determine the winners. They are:

• Best Place to Work – Small Firm (NEW)

• Best Place to Work – Medium Firm

• Best Place to Work – Large Firm

• Outreach Initiative of the Year

• Social Value Initiative of the Year

This judging will take place from 28 – 30 September 2026 at our central London office:

emap Publishing Ltd
Harmsworth House,
13 – 15 Bouverie Street,

Stage 1: Online Judging – once the entry phase closes, the judges will review online and score each submission to determine the shortlist.

Stage 2: Face to face presentation – for the industry spotlight categories (listed above) or virtual judging roundtable for the rest.
