Lisa Mortleman is an accomplished senior HR leader with a career spanning human resources, organisational development, and large scale operational transformation. Lisa currently serves as Chief Human Resources Officer at Persimmon Homes, one of the UK’s largest housebuilders. In this role, Lisa leads the Group’s people strategy across its national operations, overseeing HR, workforce planning, culture, organisational capability, talent development, and employee experience.
Before joining Persimmon, Lisa held a number of influential senior roles including Chief Human Resources Officer at DMGT plc and dmg media, where Lisa led people strategy across a large, complex media organisation for five years. Earlier in their career, Lisa served as Operations Transformation & HR Director at Carillion, where Lisa implemented a major service delivery transformation programme.
Lisa also spent seven years as Head of HR, Organisational Development & Operations at HCA, shaping people strategy and organisational capability. Prior to this, Lisa held operational leadership roles including Director of Operations (Back Office & Sales) at Devonshire Plc, building strong foundations in commercial operations.
Lisa holds a Postgraduate degree in Organisational Change and Consultancy from Birkbeck, University of London (1997–1999), as well as a BA (Hons) in Politics and European Law from the University of Leicester.
Widely recognised for deep expertise in HR strategy, organisational transformation, workforce capability and leadership development, Lisa plays a central role in shaping the workforce of the future at Persimmon. Lisa frequently collaborates with senior leaders across construction, manufacturing, customer experience, technical, and regional operations, and contributes to Persimmon’s position as an employer of choice and a leading FTSE 100 business.
Beyond formal responsibilities, Lisa represents Persimmon in external skills initiatives and apprenticeships development, including engagements with training bodies and colleges, where Lisa supports industry efforts to strengthen capability pipelines and develop future talent.
