Within a few weeks of Jake working on the ESH project it was apparent that we had a rising star! Despite never working on a Construction site before, he has shown great confidence working with both the VINCI team and our supply chain, he overcomes challenges, seeks support when needed and delivers against his targets. He is enthusiastic, courteous, has a great work ethic and soaks up information like a sponge. With Jake's determination, it won't be long before he is a Construction Manager, leading his own team and delivering great results. He is a credit to our team!

Due to a personal circumstances, Max was forced to make the decision to leave full time education to join an industry he knew little about. Max has embraced every opportunity given with enthusiasm and vigour delivering to a high professional standard at all time which is recognised both internally and externally.

Dan Baston

Dan Baston joined William Hare Group in August 2021 as an older apprentice, transitioning from an office role. Demonstrating dedication with 100% attendance and outstanding punctuality, Dan achieved distinctions at Level 3 while mastering trade skills and project drawings. Dan has handled high-pressure projects like Broadgate and Hinkley Point C, gaining management's trust through his advanced skills. Paired with new apprentices, he passes on his knowledge, exemplifying his reliability. Dan aspires to become a senior weld inspector, promising a successful future in the industry.

Sam has persevered through a heavy and conflicting workload alongside the apprenticeship, ensuring that neither took a backseat to the other. By continuously engaging with key stakeholders Sam has ensured that the work carried out throughout the apprenticeship has created genuine benefits for the planning department as well as for the wider business. From efficiency and accuracy improvements for day-to-day tasks, to contributions to using data to advocate for marginalised communities within the company.

A journey of professional discovery and enjoyment, working with highly skilled individuals in industry from complete novice to a capable labour only carpentry Quantity Surveyor. Assisting the team complete 5 carpentry projects whilst learning the trade, understanding scopes, specifications and finalising the accounts with the client. 3 years later, the primary Quantity Surveyor for 12 carpentry contracts for 11 different clients with a value of over £3 million reporting directly to the managing director of the business. Introduction of a junior QS and excitement to contribute to their development as a young professional in the construction industry.

I consider my progress within my role of a Site Engineer has surpassed many expectations. It is always hard to boast your own achievements and progress, but I believe my performance, determination, progression and most importantly, my drive to be recognised within the industry makes me stand out.

With TekBuilds support, he pursued a Chartered Business Management program at Teesside University through a degree apprenticeship. His immersion in project management and relationship building has honed his skills. As an apprentice Quantity Surveyor, James excels, impressing colleagues and clients alike with his proactive problem-solving approach and meticulous attention to detail.
